So, is it possible that an Android based cell phone or tablet could be get infected with a BOT or is this just another case of Spoofing of email ?

Read the article here

You have researchers that are not sure, you have Google stating "its spoofed email"  You have security researchers that are basing everything on the email that is being received.

Is anyone actually looking at the device (phone or tablet) to see if the email is actually being sent from the device ?  Seems to me there is some room for speculation here.

Any device that allows access to emails, personal information, bank accounts, facebook, twitter or any other personal sites, is a target.  This does not rule out Android, Apple or any other manufacturer.

The devices are targets.  We've already seen viruses and/or malware on these devices, isn't it just another  logical step that a BOT could be set up on one of these devices?  To spam or collect information, that is the question.

Since there is no real conclusive evidence, I think this might be a case of spoofing.  But I'm not going to bet the paycheck on that just yet.  To me, there is inconclusive evidence in this one article.  But since logic dictates forward direction and growth, this does seem possible, doesn't it ?

Keep your devices safe and secure!
