I have moved this domain away from a Blogging software named Serendipity. Its a great package and I highly suggest you check it out for your needs.
My needs changed recently. I am the proud owner of an Android phone and am absolutely loving the new capabilities that this phone gives me. One such new capability is an app that allows me to update this site directly from my phone. Photos may be a little large, so please excuse that. The photos will come or should come directly from my phone.
I hope some article catches your eye and helps you within the field of Cyber Security.
Steve
Can you spot me?

Throughout Black Hat and also DEFCON, Steve will be walking around with a specific pin being worn. Its goofy, but I'd rather not post photos of myself.
If you spot me, say HI and introduce yourself. If you do not spot the pin, its no big deal. We will catch up during DEFCON at some point in time. Oh and for those that spot the pin, you win a special prize! A free handshake and a greeting!
Being a part of the CSFI/CWFI community is great. Having the ability to chat with so many liked minds at all levels is very important. Together, our minds will help forge new policies and ideas for years to come.
Special thanks to Paul for setting up the forum and allowing us all to throw out ideas periodically.
So if you see me walking around with this pin on, stop and say Hello.
ATM Skimmers

The advent of technology to help us also can be used in malicious ways.
Take ATM skimmers for instance. Technology is used to record both video and analog (pressing digits) to steal your Credit Card and ATM numbers and pins.
With the advent of pinhole cameras and their marriage to wireless technologies, Remote Control (RC cars, planes, boats, etc.) enthusiasts have seen these devices for many years now.
The first article shows a very informative short video on the subject.

The second link shows some of the skimmers and video devices being used to skim confidential information from ATM accounts.

The "crooks" are getting VERY ingenious. To me this is a a simple reuse of an existing technology for malicious purposes.
The best thing to do is to be wary of ANY device. If it looks suspicious, forget about convenience, think SAFETY !
If you look at an ATM machine, touch things wiggle them. If it is loose or comes off or even doesn't feel right, its probably safe to walk away and try another.
Stay safe. Think before you use.
