With the "stay at home" orders out in various companies, people are utilizing their on-line Gaming accounts a great deal more. With this increase comes the possibility of an increase in Cyber Crimes or hacking activities.  The latest breech report is Nintendo losing 160,000 accounts and recognizing that they have been hacked.

Sega is now the next gaming system to be attacked.

read all about it here

Give or take, on Thursday 04-21-2011, the Playstation Network (PSN) was brought down due to an intrusion into the network.

In other words, they were hacked.  Lots of people screaming to get this back up, but a recent disclosure has up to 77 million people worried that their personal information was stolen.  Yes, I typed 77 MILLION!

If you or someone you know has a Playstation Network account, including children, you need to read the following links!

Most importantly, read the following if you have questions:

Suggestions when this comes live again:

1) Use only a valid email address when signed onto this or any gamer network

2) Purchase game cards for credits to be stored in your on-line wallet.  This stops the chance you will have your Credit Card Stolen

3) Do NOT use valid address and user information.  Your Personal Identification Information (PII) should be kept secret at all times.  Create a ficticious name and or account and keep this information separate when you need to communicate or verify things.  Keep yourself PRIVATE!

4) DO NOT use your actual birthday.  Use one a few years, moths or even days away from your normal Birthday.

With just a little information, ESPECIALLY your Birthday, someone can figure out your Social Security number and attempt a complete Identity Theft with this information.

Be Smart, BE SAFE!!

Anonymous, the hacking organisation that moved in to support Wiki Leaks founder Julian Assange, by bringing down the operations of several financial organisations, is alleged to have attacked Sony's Playstation network bringing down Company web sites in European and the USA.

The Group is also targeting Executive staff as well as employees.  All this in support of Wiki Leaks ?

I'm somewhat astonished that this would happen.  Not that the attack on SONY is surprising, moreso that they would do so to to show support for Wiki Leaks.

I think in time that WL will be labeled not as a radical movement, but as a politically backed organization with specific motives.  In the long run and this has to play out, I believe that WL will be exposed in time and the Hacktivists will be embarrassed for supporting this.

This just happens all the time.  How many times, how many people who join in "the fight" against something turn out to be misled from the get go?  It's all about deception and being able to coerce people to join a fight for the wrong reasons.   Some say you have to "follow the money" I say follow the money AND follow where the leaks are coming from in the first place. These "Leaks" have to be coming from a political entity with an agenda here.  Let's expose that instead of some information that can embarrass a country, hurt soldiers or worse a nations economy.  I think it's high time the Hacktivists look at how they are being used.  THAT would be an interesting event if those that comprise the Hacktivits realize they are being duped.  How would they turn their talents against a political entity ?

I think we live in interesting times where sometimes the mirror reflects some other images than those we expect to see.
